Our first festive proposal of the 2025 season was nothing short of magical and a milestone moment for The One Romance. Not only was this the beginning of our Christmas proposals for the year, but it was also our very first event inside the iconic Pompadour Room at Hotel Café Royal – a venue I personally sourced after being invited to meet the events team in October.

That meeting opened the door to an exciting new collaboration, and the moment I stepped inside the Pompadour Room, I knew it would be the perfect location for our luxury proposal designs. With its gilded ceilings, mirrored walls and timeless grandeur, the room feels like stepping into a modern-day palace. I left that visit determined to create something extraordinary there and just weeks later, we did.

A Last-Minute Request and a Dream Transformation

Late on a Friday evening, a client reached out hoping to plan an unforgettable Christmas proposal. With only a matter of days to bring everything together, our team moved instantly. This is where our experience truly matters and why we continue to be chosen as the best luxury proposal planners in London.

From concept to completion, every stylist, florist and production expert worked seamlessly, creating a breathtaking festive moment at remarkable speed.

Creating a Winter Wonderland in the Pompadour Room

For its first ever proposal, we transformed the Pompadour Room into an opulent Christmas wonderland:

• Frosted Christmas trees dressed with rich red roses and satin ribbon
• Hundreds of LED candles lining a romantic pathway
• Golden lanterns and candelabras casting a warm festive glow
• Winter greenery and garlands woven through the room
• A shimmering backdrop reflecting in the room’s ornate mirrors

  The rich gold interiors of Café Royal made the candlelight dance beautifully across the parquet floor, giving the space a warm, intimate and deeply romantic atmosphere. It was the perfect setting for a December proposal.

Behind the Scenes: The Power of a Luxury Team

While the room glittered with candlelight, behind the scenes our team worked with precision and care:

• Coordinating logistics and access to a busy central London hotel
• Styling each tree, bow and floral detail to perfection
• Managing lighting and ambience throughout the room
• Ensuring a seamless, discreet experience for the couple

It was incredible to see our first transformation of Pompadour Room the come to life. Café Royal’s events team were exceptional partners, and this proposal marks the beginning of what we know will be a beautiful ongoing collaboration.
