A Love Story Continued: From Proposal to Parenthood

At The One Romance, we often say that no two love stories are ever the same.

But every now and then, we have the privilege of becoming part of a story that continues to unfold over time and those are the moments that stay with us forever.

This is one of those stories.

Where It All Began

A few years ago, Alexander came to us with a clear intention he wanted to create a proposal that Linda would never forget.

Together, we designed a deeply personal and romantic moment at the breathtaking Fitzrovia Chapel, filled with candlelight, emotion, and thoughtful detail. It was a moment that marked the beginning of their next chapter.

What none of us realised at the time was that this would only be the beginning of our journey together.

A Surprise in Return

Years later, Linda came back to us – this time with a very different kind of secret.

She was pregnant.

And before anyone else knew, she trusted us with that news.

She wanted to create something just as meaningful for Alexander as he had once created for her. A moment filled with surprise, emotion, and intention. Something that would honour their love story… and gently introduce its next chapter.

Designing the Moment

We spent time exploring ideas that felt personal to them as a couple.

One concept stood out immediately:

A Library setting. A story unfolding. A new chapter being written.

Alexander has always loved old bookshops, spaces filled with history, intimacy, and quiet magic. It felt like the perfect metaphor for their relationship.

Their love story, told through carefully placed framed photographs, each image a memory, each step building towards something more.

At the centre of it all, a beautifully wrapped frame, tied with a soft bow, waiting to be opened.

Inside, a message that would change everything:

“Je n’ai que 5 semaines et je t’aime déjà, papa.”
(I am only 5 weeks old and I already love you, Daddy.)

The Perfect Setting

For this incredibly intimate moment, we chose the elegant Tiffany Library at the Covent Garden Hotel.

Soft candlelight, layered textures, and personal details transformed the space into something that felt entirely their own.

Alexander believed he was arriving for a simple anniversary dinner.

Instead, he stepped into a story, his story and a moment he would never forget.

More Than a Moment

What makes this story so special isn’t just the setting, or the design, or even the surprise.

It’s the trust.

From a proposal… to a pregnancy announcement… to life’s most meaningful milestones – being invited back into our clients’ lives is something we never take for granted.
