A Magical Minster Mill Transformation

There are some love stories that feel straight out of a novel – quiet, effortless, and destined. Chris and Grace’s began at college, where friendship slowly blossomed into something deeper. Years later, on a peaceful winter weekend away in the Cotswolds, Chris planned the moment he had been dreaming of, asking Grace to spend forever with him.

Minster Mill, with its honey-stone buildings, charming gardens and idyllic riverside setting, was the perfect backdrop for a proposal filled with warmth and surprise. Chris told Grace he had simply booked a cosy Sunday lunch at the hotel, nothing out of the ordinary during their romantic break. What she didn’t know was that, just a few steps away, the Willow Room was waiting for her… transformed into a breathtaking scene of romance.

When Grace walked up the steps through the door opened, she walked into a world of soft candlelight, cascading petals and elegant white florals. At the centre stood our signature oversized heart, dressed in lush white silk blooms and glowing with the words “It was always you”. The space – simple and rustic moments before – had been completely reimagined. Dozens of candles lined the floor, lanterns framed the aisle, and two grand floral arrangements brought drama and beauty to the intimate room.

As Chris dropped to one knee, Grace was completely shocked in the most magical way. Their proposal was tender, emotional and utterly heartfelt.

Transforming new spaces like the Willow Room at Minster Mill is one of the things we love most. Taking an empty room and turning it into the setting where two lives change forever. Chris and Grace’s proposal was the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern romance, and we were honoured to bring their vision to life.

A love story that started at college now has its next chapter and what a beautiful chapter it is.
